Knowing When to Have It Checked
Many differences in children's feet are simply part of normal development and resolve on their own. Others benefit from early guidance. Since it's genuinely hard for a parent to tell the two apart, a proper assessment takes the worry off your shoulders.
We work at the child's pace, explain what's normal for their stage, and recommend treatment only when it truly helps - never intervention for the sake of it.

Why Families Bring Their Child In

Children's Podiatry FAQs
How young can a child see a podiatrist?
Any age. We see toddlers just finding their feet through to teenagers. If you have a concern about your child's feet or walking, it's reasonable to have it checked.
My child's feet look flat - should I worry?
Flat feet are common and often completely normal in children, as the arch develops over years. It usually only matters if there's pain, fatigue or an effect on activity - which is exactly what an assessment clarifies.
Will my child need orthotics?
Often not. Many children need only reassurance and monitoring. Where orthoses or footwear changes genuinely help - for pain or a specific mechanical issue - we'll explain why before recommending anything.
What is Sever's disease?
It's a common, self-limiting cause of heel pain in active, growing children, linked to the heel's growth plate. It's manageable with simple measures, and we'll guide you through settling it while keeping your child active.
